Wineries and surrounding areas

Busselton is the northern gateway to the Margaret River Wine Region, southern timber towns with large old forests, and the hinterland which supports dairy and beef industries. Further south of Margaret River is Augusta situated on the south coast of Australia’s South West tourist region. Augusta faces the Southern and Indian Oceans at Cape Leeuwin on the shores of Hamelin Bay and mouth of the Blackwood River.  Augusta is the most south-western town in Western Australia.

The Busselton/Margaret River region is a premium boutique wine region and a foodies paradise!  Visitors can explore over 200 vineyards and 80 wineries that dot the picturesque hillsides throughout the region.  Highly skilled chefs have, like winemakers, been attracted to the region with prospects of working with high-quality produce to produce dishes using their own flair and imagination.

Busselton Jetty and Local Heritage

Busselton is famous for its heritage listed wooden structure jetty with an underwater observatory and interpretive centre as added features to educate and tantalise locals and visitors, alike.  Taking long walks on the jetty, angling for crabs and fish, viewing the sunsets or visiting the observatory are all part of a Busselton experience. The famous Jetty Train is a journey all visitors must take! The Busselton Museum, at the Old Butter Factory offers an excellent insight into local history, and well worth a visit!  There are numerous heritage sites throughout the town site, including the Pioneer Cemetery and St Mary’s Anglican Church – the oldest stone church in WA,  built in 1844 then consecrated in 1848.
